Street Photography

Saturday 25 January
Northern Quarter - 11am - 2 Hours
Manchester Photography Group
Warren McCann
People, cafes, vendors, street merchants, buskers, historic buildings, art installations and much more. The power of observation underpins the art of great street photography. Learning to "see" interesting detail is a practised skill and we introduce you to easy methods that will open your photographer's eye and expose you to a world that is alive with detail. The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you.

We will also go over settings, focusing techniques and lens choices common to street photography to help us capture those random chance encounters.

I had a great time. The location was excellent and the venue staff were very welcoming. Kelli-Louise is an excellent teacher, they were very patient and marvellous company. I finally feel confident and able to progress.

Kelli ran a great session introducing us to the basics. The venue worked well and it was good value for money. It's a shame you only offer one-off sessions as I have a lot to learn and would happily attend more lessons in the future.

I enjoyed the class and the time went very quickly. I found the venue off putting at the start as I found the music difficult to drown out when i wanted to focus on what was being taught, this was more to do with my learning style. It became easier once we got into it. It was nice being able to have a brew while we learnt and it was nice to have a few options of hooks to suit individual needs and abilities. It was definitely beneficial for me to learn from someone rather than watching online videos, the advantage is to have someone physically lead your technique as you learnt.
