Learn crochet and make new friends. The Manchester Crochet Club organises crochet classes run by Professional Crochet Instructors for beginners, all the way up to experienced crocheters.
19th March 2020: Due to the increasing situation in the UK with coronavirus. We have decided to put all crochet classes on hold for the foreseeable future.
Time: 12.30pm - 1:30pm Saturdays
Location: Nexus Art Cafe, M1 1JW
Cost: £35 per person / per class
Beginners Class: This class is designed for those who have had little to no experience with a crochet hook. You will learn the crochet basics and terminology and we'll get you started on your very own granny square.
Other Classes: Perfect for those who've already done our popular Beginners Class!
- Corner to Corner Class (C2C)
- Crochet Stitches Class
- Amigurumi 101 Class
All our classes include crochet materials and instruction.
Students will also receive a non-alcoholic drink during the class.
If our class is more than 8 students (max 10) we will provide extra time at the end of the class
Everyone with an interest in crochet (whether you have been to a class or not) are also welcome to join our Facebook Group where you can share your crochet projects, find inspiration, make friends, and also just have a good yarn.

Jackie was absolutely amazing. Such a lovely lady. So informative and patient. I made a beautiful Granny Square in Pretty pastel colours. Wish I didnít do shift work as Iíd love to sign up for the other classes. 5/5 by Val Rayner 23-2-2020
Jackie was an excellent teacher. We were a small group of 4, so had lots of help and explanation. 3 hours went by really quickly. I have a granny square and confidence to try other patterns, but also a great teacher to contact if I get stuck. Will definitely be booking another course with you. 5/5 by Sam Spencer 29-12-2019
We were very lucky to have Jackie to ourselves who is a very friendly and bubbly person. She worked at our pace, explaining the stitches and pattern which allowed us to come home with an almost finished item.
Many thanks Jackie. 5/5 by Julie Kidman 17-12-2019

I thoroughly enjoyed the beginner class which I attended with 2 friends. We had good instruction and it was great to have wool and a hook to bring home so we could practice straight away. 5/5 by Sandra Gibson 9-6-2019

Loved every minute of it 😊. Jackie was an excellent host who looked after us, taught us crochet basics up to the creation of a granny square and then guided us on the right path. The group dynamics was lovely and everyone encouraged each other to do the best they could. We had a laugh and a lovely afternoon. Thanks! 5/5 by Kate MacCarron 17-11-2018
Really enjoyed the session. Jackie has the patience of a saint! Thevgtoup was just the right size. 5/5 by Catherine Sheldon 17-11-2018
Jacqueline was a brilliant teacher. I'm not a total novice and could make a passable granny square but I didn't know some of the basics. She was incredibly patient as I struggled with the magic loop but swiftly moved me on when I'd grasped it.
Not a moment of the precious 3 hours was wasted. Jacqueline started teaching from the point I was at so I didn't spend time replaying stuff I already knew. The teaching was specifically focussed on the techniques I wanted to learn. I'm planning to come to a meet up in the next couple of months to demonstrate my new skill and pick up more tips. 5/5 by Sue Porter 3-11-2018
Really enjoyed it. Picked up tips from Emma how to improve my crocheting. Venue was great as well.x 4/5 by Gillian Smith 14-10-2018
Enjoyed the venue and the tips which have really helped neaten up my project. Good chilled out afternoon. 5/5 by Sharon williams 1-10-2018
In a word - fantastic!
The venue was easy to find and had everything we could possibly need plus it was very comfortable and relaxing even though we were learning new techniques etc.
Emma and Jackie the tutors were very encouraging and happy to work with us on our individual crochet levels and interests/ projects.
I had a great time and hope very much to go along to another Meet Up in the near future.
Many thanks Indeed. 5/5 by Helen Jones 29-9-2018
